Thinking outside the box

This is my first entry in my second attempt at a blog. And I’ll explain why the blog title is what it is, etc, in my next entry. But for today, this is what you’re stuck with.
Yup.
Anyways, moving right along…
Today, I met a person who couldn’t think outside the box. It was very uncomfortable, watching her run into her self made walls.
Why do people do that, anyways? Make walls, limit themselves.
And no, I don’t mean the reasonable, physical limits, like only two pieces of chocolate. Or only one tv show. Stuff like that...
I mean thought limiting. The only concepts that make sense are concepts they have personally experienced.
Obviously, these people couldn’t have chosen self affliction. If they knew what kind of box they were stuck in, the natural, human thing to do is to break out. Are you stuck in a prison? Why resign yourself to imprisonment when you can try to escape!
So the question is, what restricts people? What is it that, from whatever age, puts chains on a person’s thoughts?
You’re probably reading this now and are about to give up and tell me I shouldn’t write things at 3 in the morning. But if you’re not and you are really curious, (or if you couldn’t care less, but are just reading because.. I don’t know. Because.) I have a question for you.
Do you think outside the box, or do you just think you think outside the box?
That was not very eloquently put, I know, but it was the simplest way to ask.
Personally, I like to say that I don’t just think outside the box, I think outside the circle surrounding the box.
But that may not be true, I don’t know. How can one know?
Even so, think about it for a while. You may end up running in circles, dancing with logic and chaos in a strange sort of waltz. That’s certainly where I’ve found myself.
And that is where I shall leave you. Good night, good morning, have a happy life.
